I’m on my third hat... every one better than the last. I’m not done. Quality is great, fit is great, service is great.
Fits well. Feels good. Lots of compliments.
It is a wonderful hat. The Brim smaller than it looks in the photos and didn't give the projection from the sun that I needed so I sent it back for a Gatsby.
Incidentally the size is about a perfect for a 71/2 so you don't have to worry about needing a 75/8 if sometime 71/2 is too small in some hats.
I bought this hat for a summer trip to Rome and have used it for two other warm weather trips. Because it is packable, not crushable, I made sure to stuff clothing inside and to insure the brim was flat in my pack. Having done this, I had absolutely no problem with packing the hat inside soft-sided, checked luggage,
My one concern was getting caught in a shower with the hat so, following the advise of the Ultrafino people, I sprayed the hat with Scotchguard. But it never rained, so I don't know how the hat would have fared.
In summary--completely satisfied!
I own many panama style hats and I liked the fact that this one is foldable. I ordered it mainly because, as a Trilby style hat, it should have a short brim. I have plenty of hats with a medium size brim, so I ordered this one. I love the fit, feel and look of this hat. Just be mindful that the brim actually measures 2.5", not 2". Ultrafino should post a picture of each hat with a measuring tape so one could easily distinguish the exact brim width. I am going to keep this hat because I do like it, but wish the hat brim was 2" as I already have about 4 with a 2.5" brim. The hat is a good quality and does feel like it is slightly larger than a 7 1/2, which is the size I ordered. I do wear a 7 1/2 in some hats and a 7 5/8 in others. It has been my experience that a foldable or packable hat seems to run a little larger for its size. That is why I ordered the 7 1/2, and it fits perfectly. Also, this hat is a foldable hat, not a packable hat and there is a difference. This hat may end up being one of my favorite panamas. Still looking for the foldable 2" brimmed trilby, though.
