Determining your hat size is quick and easy. All you need is some sort of tape measure or string that can be measured.
Place the tape around your head right above your ear. It should across your mid-forehead, 1/8" above your ear, completely circling your head, and taut.
Then use the chart below to find your 'Label' size. If you are in between sizes choose the next largest size.

The Panama hat is a finely woven hat made out of toquilla palms on Ecuador’s Pacific coast. The finer the weave, the finer the hat. A hat that is considered to be of 'Ultrafino' grade contains at least 600 weaves per square inch and takes about 6 months to make. When the company was started in 2003 the first hat ever sold was an Ultrafino grade Panama Hat. The name Ultrafino had a certain feeling of excitement, uniqueness, and quality. We wanted all of our products to radiate the same feeling of owning an Ultrafino grade hat. And so began Ultrafino Panama Hats.
Ultrafino means ultra-fine in Spanish and it has become the raw definition of the company. Everything we do is aligned to the name. We strive to provide ultra-fine customer service while providing ultra-fine quality hats.

The hat is beautiful, very well made, impeccable workmanship and top quality material. I will certainly buy other models.
This Sahara style hat was perfect for the occasions I have been wearing it. The weave and forming were tight. The hat band spacers provided enabled me a tailored fit and I have received numerous compliments. When my CV-19 forced Zoom meetings come on line I am there sporting my new hat. Have not had a meeting without a comment. Thanks
I just received it and have only worn it once - all indications are that this is a great hat. I’ll probably reserve it’s use for more formal occasions such as outdoor weddings, receptions, family dinners and the like as I have many less formal hats. So far, very happy with my purchase - it’s a great looking hat!
I really love this hat. I'd been searching for one for a long time and was frustrated because of ill-fitting hats and lack of quality. Ultrafino solved all of that. The 7 1/8 fits me perfectly and the quality of this hat is on the high end. My wife and are so intrigued with the back story that we're planning a trip to Cuenca for the holidays.
This is my second Panama from Ultrafino (the first being their “Hand Finished” model.) Both are light and comfortable, great for sun protection, and really breathable. The weave is tight enough to be really nice looking but loose enough to let the air pass through. Very happy with both. Think I’ll add their Malta Sienna hat for a trifecta! Thanks Ultrafino!
