Determining your hat size is quick and easy. All you need is some sort of tape measure or string that can be measured. You can also watch our video that shows how we measure hat size.
Place the tape around your head right above your ear. It should across your mid-forehead, 1/8" above your ear, completely circling your head, and taut.
Then use the chart below to find your 'Label' size. If you are in between sizes choose the next largest size.
Use this chart to determine your Hat Size. We use the fitted row for our products.

The Panama hat is a finely woven hat made out of toquilla palms on Ecuador’s Pacific coast. The finer the weave, the finer the hat. A hat that is considered to be of 'Ultrafino' grade contains at least 600 weaves per square inch and takes about 6 months to make. When the company was started in 2003 the first hat ever sold was an Ultrafino grade Panama Hat. The name Ultrafino had a certain feeling of excitement, uniqueness, and quality. We wanted all of our products to radiate the same feeling of owning an Ultrafino grade hat. And so began Ultrafino Panama Hats.
Ultrafino means ultra-fine in Spanish and it has become the raw definition of the company. Everything we do is aligned to the name. We strive to provide ultra-fine customer service while providing ultra-fine quality hats.

I said it once and i will say it again...ultrafino rules Look at the Manhattan Fedora and you will see what I am talking about!
I have a few more hats than are legally required and a lot more than my wife thinks I need. Most are either the outback or safari style, so down brim. I ordered this hat just for something a bit different.
The box looked like it had had a rough journey. The hat had a large dent in the from of the crown, but it popped right back to normal shape. I ordered gray. It's a pleasant light gray shade. The hat band is a little wider than I would like, but I'm getting used to it. The wool felt is good grade and could pass for fur felt. The sweet band is leather, and it's comfortable to wear for extended periods.
It's a bit of a retro look, like you stepped out of movie from the 50s, but it goes well with a sweatshirt and jeans or a sport coat. I find it has become one of my favorites.
To put it in perspective, this is a wool hat, not rabbit fur, which would run twice the price. That said, it is a stiff wool. Stiff is good. It means the hat will hold its shape. It means won’t have to fool with the brim just to get it to snap right every time you put it on. To my eyes it is very attractive—it looks just like the pictures on the website, sharply defined dents on the crown, binding on the brim. Very much the traditional 1940’s fedora, with a bit of taper to fit into the 21st century. If it is slightly large, try reducing tape before ordering a hat that’s too small. Overall, I’d say it’s a good choice if you want a fedora without shelling out rabbit (let alone beaver) prices.
Nice hat with a classy look. Fits well.
Best hat company around. All their products are well made and this Fedora is no exception.
